Episodes 1-26 (Galaxy Angel [Season 1, episodes 1-24] + Galaxy Angel Specials [VHS/DVD only episodes 21 and 26]) were called Galaxy Angel A (ギャラクシーエンジェルＡ).
Episodes 27-52 (Galaxy Angel 3) were called Galaxy Angel AA (ギャラクシーエンジェルＡＡ).

"Galaxy Angel A (Galaxy Angel 3) and AA (Galaxy Angel 3 Specials) are both considered to be Galaxy Angel series three. Aside from their openings and endings, there is no difference between them and their episode numbers do not reset after the change."
"Series AA is still part of Galaxy Angel series three. The only difference is the OP/ED."
